LAUBACH SEEKING 2012 BRIDGEPORT TITLE
Hellertown Pennsylvania’s Rick Laubach will be returning to the
Bridgeport Speedway in 2012. Laubach is no stranger to the lightning
fast 5/8 mile speedway. For many years Laubach was a front runner
and frequent winner at the Logan Township New Jersey oval.
In 2009 Rick’s racing took him to the New Egypt Speedway in New
Egypt, NJ. In his quest there he won both the 2009 and 2010 Big
Block Modified Championships. Laubach finished second in points to
2011 Track Champion Billy Pauch with 2 feature wins to his credit.
This year Rick will once again be piloting the potent Gary and
Lori Herman Benton Electric, Beer City, Teo Pro Car Big Block
Modified #7 but the venue will be different. Bridgeport, a place
familiar to both Laubach and the Hermans should be the perfect spot
for them to seek their First Championship as a team.
After a successful Florida Tour in February, Rick’s season kicks
off on Friday and Saturday March 16th &17th at
Selinsgrove Speedways "IceBreaker" event. Rick will then travel to
New Egypt on March 24th for their opening event of the
season. Laubach’s first Bridgeport appearance will be Saturday March
31 for Hand One of Promoter Doug Hoffman’s "Poker Series".
Rick will also return to the Big Diamond Raceway in
Minersville,Pa. on Friday nights in 2012. The Herman #7 Small Block
Modified will be ready to race for the championship in the 358
Modified Division. Rick finished a close second (15 pts) to track
champion Jeff Strunk with 2 wins to his credit in 2011. Rick also
won the 2011 American Racer Cup Points at Big Diamond Raceway.
Also on the Rick’s agenda for 2012 is the Race Of Champion Dirt
Series and several special events throughout the season.
